Put the date in your diaries NOW!
OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY – Held every
10 years, this play will next be staged in 2010.
Highway Projects are planning trips for the following dates: 26th
May–4th June, 16th-25th June, 14th–23rd July, 18th-27th
August and 15th-24th September 2010 (these dates include
a week's holiday in Austria). If you would like to learn more
about this, please contact the office as soon as possible.
Many people from Christ Church are going on 18-27 August
so you may wish to consider this date, which also benefits from
the leadership on Rev Tim Robb, a previous Christ Church curate,
now Vicar of St Marys Eaton Socon..
BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY On September 28th 2008, thousands of people
will be inviting someone special back to church. Back to Church
Sunday is a nationwide initiative to encourage those people who
used to go to church to return. People lose touch with church
for all sorts of reasons but would come back if only they were
invited – Back to Church Sunday is that invitation. Last
year people in 2000 churches in the UK invited and welcomed back
20,000 friends. When people realise that their church is a welcoming,
loving and non-threatening community and when they recognise that
God can make a difference in their lives – they come back
and stay.
That is our experience over and over again. Invite someone back
to church and see for yourself.
PRAYER WALKING Each Wednesday evening in August we will be prayer
walking around the parish. It's a great way to pray for and bless
our neighbourhood. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to stay in the
church building you'd be most welcome as well. Come for one week
or all four! Meet at church hall at 8pm - we'll aim to be finished
by 9.30pm.
