Christ Church is a parish church in the St. Albans Diocese of the Church of England. Our parish covers much of the Castle Road area and the Devon Park Estate.

We seek to be a Church that is firmly based on the teaching of the Bible, to which we look for our final authority in matters of belief, doctrine, behaviour and ethics.

We are a family of faith, who meet together for teaching, for worship, for prayer and for encouragement, whether on Sundays or at other times during the week. We value the ministry of every member and we seek to use the gifts that God has given each of us in his service. We desire to be outward looking and to serve our local community through both our care for others and our sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ.

It is our desire as a Church to enable people to know God and to love him, and under the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, to live a life that reflects that love and that shares the good news of Jesus Christ with others.

What we stand for

Our vision is to be a Church that lives to love God. Our mission statement is ..."to enable everyone to become mature followers of Christ, who experience and live out God's love in every part of their lives."

Our desire is to be this through:-

• worship that comes from the heart (1 Peter 2:9)
• teaching that helps us be more Christ-like (Philippians 3:10)
• caring that encourages those among us and around us (1 John 4:8)
• lives that reflect our love of God (Romans 12:1)
• telling others of what God’s love means for us (1 John 4:10)
