The Alpha logo Exploring the Christian faith. We run once a term a course called Alpha, which is designed to help people explore the basics of the Christian faith. It lasts about 12 weeks and is held in the evenings and occasionally during the daytime.

Baptism. Baptisms at Christ Church normally take place as part of the main morning service at 10.00am on the 3rd Sunday of each month. In order to help parents understand the commitment and promises they make at the Baptism Service, we ask them to attend an occasional short course held in the evening.

Small groups . We meet weekly in small groups to share and learn.

Lunch Club – meeting 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 12.45pm. A two-course lunch and coffee for £2. All welcome.

Marriage. Couples planning weddings at Christ Church are asked to attend a course which covers a broad spectrum of topics through which couples can consider their marriage more deeply.

Confirmation group Confirmation Classes. Confirmation classes are run annually for people wishing to become full members of the Church. There is both an adult course and one for our young people (regular Church attendees 13 years and over). Confirmation 2005

Morning Out. Mothers and toddlers group meets every Friday. The current (Spring 2008) programme is available here

Mothers’ Union Prayer Group. This prayer group meets monthly on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 2.30pm in the Tiller Room.

Men’s Breakfast. This meets monthly on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 8.30am in the hall. A full English breakfast is provided, together with an opportunity to share with and pray with one another.

The Marriage course logo Marriage Course. This course is provided once a term for those couples who wish to help their marriage. This is open to both Church members and non-Church members and consists of a short, video input and then private discussion by the couple of the material they’ve heard.

Activities for Children

Creche 0-3 years - The creche is available every Sunday in the church hall during the 10.00am service. It provides care for babies and children. There is a safe, carpeted area for the younger ones and the older ones have a variety of activities to choose from.

Explorers - Explorers happens every Sunday, except the 1st Sunday, during the 10.00am service. They meet in the main church hall and have a varied programme of worship, stories, activities, handicrafts and Bible study, dependent upon age.

 

Pathfinders RS2 - RS2 is aimed at 11-13 year olds. They join us at the beginning of our 10.00am service and then meet together. There is a balanced programme of relevant Christian teaching, combined with games and other activities

Playgroup - Our pre-school playgroup meets Monday to Thursday mornings, 9.15am-11.45am in our church halls. The children, who are normally at least two and a half years old, have a varied programme of singing, stories, painting and play.

GIG (Growing in God) - This group is for those aged 13+, where they can meet together to have fun while learning about God and praying for one another.

Rock Solid - Rock Solid is the Youth Club of Christ Church Bedford. It has been set up for children in school years 5 to 8 who are associated with Christ Church.

1 Worship - A once a month service planned and carried out by some of our young people, aimed at the whole church.
